When I finally took the blinders off..

I want to share something personal today — something that changed the entire direction of my life and my work.

For a long time, I walked through motherhood and medicine with blinders on.

Not literal blinders, of course.
But the invisible kind we wear when we’re in survival mode.

The kind that say:

“Just keep going.”
“Don’t fall behind.”
“This is the path. Stick to it.”
“Everyone else is doing it — you should be able to, too.”

So I kept chugging along, doing all the things I thought I had to do, moving down the one path I was taught was the only “right” one.

And like so many mothers, I pushed myself until the pushing broke me.

The pandemic…
A child with allergies…
Me being the soul nutrition provider for him for 14 months while working full time…
Support systems disappearing…
Losing our long term nanny …
Not finding consistent childcare during the pandemic as i was considered an essential healthcare worker..
Trading childcare back and forth with my husband while trying to keep two careers afloat…

It was too much.
And yet I kept telling myself, “This is the only way. Just keep going.”

Until one day, I couldn’t.

That’s when coaching found me.

When I finally slowed down enough to take those blinders off, I realized something huge:

✨ There are so many ways to live.
✨ So many choices.
✨ So many paths that are just as valid — and far more aligned.
✨ And I wasn’t the only one struggling.

The belief that I had to hold it all together, alone, on one narrow path… was never true.

Coaching cracked my world open.
It showed me possibility I had forgotten to imagine.
And even more importantly —
it showed me community.

The kind of community that says,
“You’re not alone.”
“You’re not failing.”
“You’re held here.”

And that’s why I created The Village.

A space for women — especially mothers and givers (nurturers, healers, givers, caregivers) — who feel isolated, overwhelmed, or stuck on the treadmill of doing everything for everyone.

A space to:

🌿 Breathe
🌿 Be seen
🌿 Reconnect with yourself
🌿 Learn tools that actually help
🌿 Show up imperfectly
🌿 Sit in community
🌿 Practice the skills that regulate us, not just understand them

We gather once a month for free.
We talk, we connect, we learn, we support each other.
It’s soft, it’s grounding, it’s real.

If you’ve ever felt boxed in by expectations, believing you must stay on a path that no longer fits…

Your blinders can come off too.

And you don’t have to do it alone.

I’d love to see you inside.

P.S. Please share with all who could use a village and recognize they are not alone in this.
